Frigol is one of the five largest Brazilian slaughterhouses and one of the leaders in beef and pork production in South America. Founded in 1992 by the Gonzaga Oliveira family, who had been in the beef business since 1970, Frigol is strategically located in the states of São Paulo and Pará.
The Company currently has an important share in the domestic and international markets, with a presence in more than 60 countries in the South and North Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa.
As a traditional and consistent company, Frigol keeps up with societal transformations and introduces innovative solutions without fearing changes. To that end, the company adopts sustainability practices to minimize livestock impacts on society and the environment. 1970
Luís Gonzaga de Oliveira arrives in the city of Lençóis Paulista and starts his first butcher’s store.
1978
The Santo Expedito butcher’s chain expanded and now has 05 units.
1983
The Santo Expedito butcher’s chain inaugurates a supermarket.
1988
Start of operations of the pork slaughter plant.
1992
Four brothers and a brother-in-law from the Gonzaga de Oliveira family join forces to lease a meatpacking plant in the city of Lençóis Paulista, giving rise to the Frigol brand.
2007
Construction of a unit in the state of Pará.
2014
Frigol’s net revenue reaches R$1 billion.
2020
The company is ranked among “The 100 best Brazilian agribusiness companies”, according to Forbes.
